Easy to make recipe: pancakes

Cassie Weymouth, Editor-in-Chief

Pancakes are a breakfast classic often made on sleepy weekend mornings. Though box mix shortens the process, why use that when homemade pancakes are one of the easiest breakfast items to make? Homemade pancakes are not only fluffier and tastier, but also fun to make.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk or milk of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl, then add wet ingredients. Once well mixed, heat a skillet over medium heat with butter. Dollop two ¼ cups of batter onto skillet two at a time. Once bubbles start forming and popping, flip the pancakes over. When both sides are golden brown, they are done.
