Future snow days create a temporary return to virtual learning

As stated in the 2023-2024 Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) Inclement Weather Plan, all closures due to inclement weather after the first three will be made synchronous virtual school days on a 2 hour delay schedule.

The 2 hour delay schedule will allow students and teachers to prepare for the temporary switch back to a virtual learning system. During this time, teachers will post Google Meet class join codes.

School will begin at 9:45 a.m. on these days and all students will have a break for lunch between 11:50 a.m. and 12:25 p.m.

The schedule outlined in a July Baltimore County Board of Education meeting states that a maximum of eight virtual school days can be built into the schedule. Three days can be asynchronous, but at least five must be synchronous. These eight days fit into the schedule and will not cause the end date of the school year to change.

While it is unlikely for the limit to be reached, any inclement weather days following these eight could delay the end of the school year.
