Black Friday: Online or In-person shopping?

Every year, millions of Americans hit the stores the day after Thanksgiving. For some, Black Friday has become somewhat of a holiday.

Deciding whether to shop online or in person during Black Friday is a hotly debated topic.

“I love Black Friday because I am a shopaholic… I am most excited for Sephora’s Cyber Monday” Said Laura Neer, senior at Dulaney. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, retailers were forced to modify their stores by switching to e-commerce. Shifts in consumer behavior and new marketing strategies tailored toward online websites and shopping have created a generation of shoppers who prefer shopping online.

“I prefer shopping online because I am usually away for Black Friday. I also typically find better deals online: DePop, LuluLemon, White Fox, Addicted” Said Zoe Hyde, senior at Dulaney.
