In a pivotal race against Republican Dan Cox, Democratic candidate Wes Moore won the gubernatorial election by nearly 350,000 votes. Moore is Maryland’s first Black Governor, and third elected in the nation. After two terms under Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, Moore’s victory will return full political authority to the Democrats. You can expect Moore to improve public education, access to childcare, accessibility to health care, and reduce the racial wealth gap.
