Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Feb. 14 is the day full of love, sweets and celebrating relationships.

Valentine’s Day is a holiday many people cherish. It is an important day for those who want to appreciate their boyfriend, girlfriend or friends.

To acknowledge this day, some buy flowers, chocolate, cards or jewelry. Many people celebrate at night by going out to a nice restaurant or making a meal at home.

“Me and my boyfriend are going to hang out and make heart-shaped pizzas,” said junior Christina Neimiller.

Junior Campbell Bowman says, “My boyfriend is coming over; we are going to cook dinner and then make dessert.”

Valentine’s Day isn’t always about celebrating with a significant other. Many girls like to celebrate “Galentine’s” Day. This is typically where girls get together with their friends to embrace their friendships.

“Me and my friends are going to paint canvases, and each of us will bring different boards of food,” said sophomore Kayleigh Dean.

Senior Rohini Natarjan mentions, “For Galentine’s Day, me and my friends are having a sleepover. We are each bringing platters with Valentine’s Day-themed food.”

Whether someone is in a relationship or not, this hallmark holiday is the highlight of February.
