Five Things to Know About Sports: Week of Dec. 5

  1. Both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams defeated Towson on Dec. 7 by large margins. In the girls’ game, the Lions won 56-38, while the boys cruised to a 91-50 win.
  2. The first spirit basketball game of the year will be on Dec. 9 against Catonsville with the Student Athlete Leadership Board hosting “Dulaney Village”, an event based on ESPN’s College Gameday. Tailgate begins at five and is limited to the first 200 students that show up.
  3. The varsity indoor track team looks to build on their cross country state championship in the fall at their first meet on Dec. 10 at CCBC Essex.
  4. This year’s edition of the Lions’ Den spirit shirts are now on sale for a limited time. Shirts will be on sale at all lunch shifts on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 for $10.
  5. The boys varsity soccer and lacrosse teams will be hosting their second middle school information night on Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the satellite cafeteria. All prospective student athletes from Ridgely and Cockeysville are welcome to attend
