Police Say Alcohol May Have Played a Role in a Fatal Porsche Crash on Diamond Street in Hilltown Township That Killed a 57-Year-Old Driver Friday Night

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 57-year-old Hilltown Township man died Friday night after police say he lost control of his Porsche and collided with another vehicle on Diamond Street. The crash happened in the 1200 block of the road around 7 p.m. and is now under investigation by Hilltown Township police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office Crash Team.

Investigators say the Porsche Cayenne was traveling eastbound when its right-side tires left the roadway east of Narothyn Road. The SUV then crossed into the path of a westbound Subaru Legacy, where the vehicles struck each other.

Crash sequence began after Porsche left the roadway east of Narothyn Road

Police say the first signs of trouble came when the Porsche’s right tires went off the right edge of Diamond Street. After that, the vehicle veered left and moved into opposing traffic. That sequence put it directly in the lane of the Subaru, according to the preliminary investigation.

The collision happened on a stretch of Diamond Street that police identified as east of Narothyn Road. The crash team has not said what caused the Porsche to leave the roadway, but the investigation remains open.

For now, officials are treating the event as a serious fatal crash rather than closing the book on what happened in the seconds before impact. The location and direction of travel are central to the case because they show how quickly the vehicle moved from its lane into oncoming traffic.

Driver died at St. Luke’s Hospital at Grand View after being taken from the scene

The Porsche driver was the only person in that vehicle. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital at Grand View, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his name.

In the Subaru, the driver was not reported injured at the scene. Police said the female front-seat passenger and an infant riding in a rear seat car seat were both taken to St. Luke’s Hospital at Grand View for injuries.

The crash involved two vehicles but had very different outcomes for the occupants. One driver died, while the other vehicle’s occupants required medical transport after the impact.

Investigators are examining whether alcohol impairment contributed to the wreck

Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. They are also looking into the possibility that alcohol impairment played a role. That does not mean investigators have reached a final conclusion, but it does show one of the possible factors now being examined.

The mention of alcohol comes from police as part of the early investigation, alongside the physical path of the Porsche before the collision. Officials have not said whether charges are expected or whether any tests have been completed.

Crash investigations often take time because officers and reconstruction teams must match vehicle positions, roadway conditions and witness accounts. In this case, police have only released a preliminary account and have not described any final findings.

Police have not identified the victim as crews from several fire and EMS agencies responded

Authorities have not released the name of the man who died. For now, the case remains identified by the location, the vehicles involved and the age of the driver.

Hilltown police were assisted at the scene by the Silverdale Fire Department, Sellersville Fire Department, Chal-Brit EMS Medic 159, St. Luke’s Medic 151 and VMSC Medic 345. Those agencies helped respond after the collision and during the medical transport of the injured occupants.

The response reflects how quickly a local crash can become a multi-agency emergency, especially when there is a fatality, injuries and an infant in the vehicle. Police have not said whether road closures or lane restrictions remained in place after the scene was cleared.

Fatal crash adds to concern on a busy township road

Diamond Street is the roadway named in the investigation, and the crash took place in a section of the township that police were able to identify down to the 1200 block. That level of detail matters because it helps investigators and residents understand exactly where the vehicles met.

Even with only a preliminary account, police have already outlined a sequence that points to a sudden loss of control and a head-on style collision in oncoming traffic. The fact that the Porsche crossed over before impact is central to the case.

The investigation is continuing, and authorities have not yet said what led the Porsche off the road. For now, the known facts are the time, place, vehicles involved and the death of the 57-year-old driver.
