COVENTRY, RI — Coventry police have identified the young driver who died after a serious crash on Harkney Hill Road earlier this week. The victim was 21-year-old Liam Stahlbush of Sterling, Connecticut.
Police said the collision happened Tuesday near Camp Westwood Road and was described as a nearly head-on crash. Both vehicles had only their drivers inside at the time.
Stahlbush was badly hurt in the wreck and was taken to Kent County Memorial Hospital, where he later died. The other driver was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries.

Liam Stahlbush died after being taken to Kent County Memorial Hospital

He later died at the hospital. Police identified him as a 21-year-old from Sterling, Connecticut, bringing a name and hometown to a crash that had initially been described only in broad terms.

Second driver had minor injuries and has not been charged
The other driver was also taken to a hospital, but police said those injuries were minor. That driver was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after the collision.
