DALLAS, TX — One person died early Monday after a single-vehicle crash beneath a bridge in southern Dallas, according to Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue. Officers and firefighters were sent to the scene just before 2:30 a.m. after a passerby placed a 911 call.
The wreck happened at the intersection of South R.L. Thornton and East Camp Wisdom Road, near I-35. Dallas Fire-Rescue found one victim at the scene and pronounced that person dead. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.

Dallas police said the emergency response began after someone passing by reported the crash. That call sent both police and fire-rescue crews to the area in the early-morning darkness, when traffic is lighter but visibility can still be limited around highway ramps and underpasses.
The collision happened beneath a bridge, a setting that can complicate response efforts because of narrow access points and the layout of roads feeding into the interstate corridor. Officials have not said how fast the vehicle was traveling or whether any other cars were involved.
For now, police have only confirmed that the incident involved one vehicle and that one person died at the scene.
