Boise Police Investigate Deadly Stabbing at a Large House Party on North Duncan Lane After Adult Man Dies on the Porch Monday Morning

BOISE, ID — Boise police are investigating a deadly stabbing that unfolded just after 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 6000 block of North Duncan Lane. Officers, Boise Fire and Ada County paramedics were sent to the home after reports that someone had been stabbed.

When first responders arrived, they found people leaving what police described as a large house party and an adult man with stab wounds on the front porch. Life-saving efforts were started at the scene, but the man died from his injuries. Police have not publicly identified him yet.

Altercation on the porch led to the stabbing

Investigators say early findings point to a confrontation on the front porch that ended with the victim being stabbed. Police have not released details about what caused the fight or how many people were involved.

At this point, investigators also have not said what weapon was used or whether the stabbing happened inside the house before moving outside. The case is being handled as a homicide investigation while detectives work to piece together what happened in the minutes before emergency crews arrived.

Suspect remains at large as detectives search nearby area

The suspect has not been found. Boise police said detectives are searching the surrounding area for more witnesses and any information that could help identify who was responsible.

Officials have not said whether they believe the suspect knew the victim or whether the person may still be in the Boise area. For now, the investigation remains active, with officers trying to reconstruct the timeline from the party, the porch confrontation and the 911 calls that followed.

Coroner will identify the victim after family is notified

The Ada County Coroner will release the victim’s identity only after next of kin have been notified. That process can take time, especially when investigators are still confirming details from a chaotic scene.

Police did not say how long the party had been going on or how many people were inside or outside the home when officers arrived. What is clear is that the gathering had already started breaking up by the time responders reached the property and saw people leaving the house.

Detectives want partygoers who left before speaking to officers

Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives are asking anyone who was at the home before or at the time of the stabbing, but left before talking to officers, to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790. Detectives say those witnesses could help fill in the missing pieces.

Police are especially looking for people who may have seen the altercation on the porch or who know how the fight started. In a case built around witness accounts and physical evidence, those conversations could help determine who was involved and how the deadly encounter began.

Neighbors and city residents face another violent call in a residential block

The stabbing happened in a residential area, turning an early-morning house party into a scene with fire crews, paramedics and detectives on one Boise street. The location, a home in the 6000 block of North Duncan Lane, is now the center of an active violent-crimes investigation.

Authorities have not released any additional information about arrests or possible motives. Until witnesses come forward and the coroner identifies the victim, police say the case will remain focused on finding the suspect and understanding exactly what happened outside the house.
